CATEGORIES

Group Interview: (40 Points)

Contestants will participate in a group interview with the judging panel. The purpose of interview is to provide judges insight into the character of each contestant. During the interview process the judges are also afforded the opportunity to evaluate each contestant's basic qualifications, such as, intelligence, communication skills, attitude, composure, and the ability to interact in a group setting. You should dress as though you are attending a professional interview.

Presentation: (NOt judged)

For Presentation contestants are asked to interpret through costume/fashion what "BLACK PRIDE" means to you. How do you envision what Black Pride is? Let your imagination run free and bring us that interpretation with class and style.

Swimwear: (35 Points)

We are looking for a well fitted and elegant swimsuit. Accessories and shoes must be cohesive to the swimsuit. Bring us that Paris fashion week runway walk.

Evening Wear / Formal Wear: (35 Points)

For Miss, we are looking for Evening wear (High Fashion/Couture, etc.),-for the Mr., we are looking for Black Tie formal wear. Judges will evaluate the entire look from head to toe. Your modeling skills are very important for this category.

Talent: (50 Points)

Talent is limited to (5) minutes. You will be given 30 seconds grace time to close out your talent. Any talent that is more than (5) minutes will be subject to administrative point deduction. Judges will be scoring based on choreography, lip sync, costumes, and content.

Question & Answer: (35 Points)

The top (5) will be selected after the Talent category has been completed and tabulated. In the event of a tie, the contestant with the highest talent score will be selected. Once the top (5) has been selected, each of the contestants will select an envelope with a question to answer. If after the Q&A process, there is still a tie. The contestant with the highest score for Q&A will be selected. Judges will score based on your understanding the question, the context of your answer, your deliverance, and poise.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are lookingfor an ambassador to represent not only the title of Mr/Miss Black Pride International but also BLACK PRIDE. The ambassador must demonstrate the highest level of excellence in and out of the reign. This title must be carried with the upmost respect, professionalism, intelligence and poise. You must conduct yourself at all times in the highest manner for you will also be the face of Black Pride for your selected year of reign.

MARKETING:

As a reigning Mr./Miss Black Pride International you are required to promote all Black Pride events on all your social media platforms. You must also recruit future candidates for the next pageant. There will also be a presence required during certain community service events.

hOW TO pre-REGISTER

You will find a registration link at the bottom of this page. There is a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 registration fee. Pre-registering is the only way to use a card. Click the link to add it to your cart. Proceed to check out and you will be prompted to fill out a form with your Name, Email, Phone Number, and whether you are submitting to enter the Mr. or Miss category. You must be 21 years of age to enter with a valid state issued ID.

MR./MISS BLACK PRIDE INTERNATIONAL RULES & REGULATION

PLEASE READ CAREFULL

  1. All contestants must be (21) years of age with a valid state issued ID.

  2. The NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee for the pageant will be $100. All registration fees for the pageant must be in the form of cash or cash app, unless you pre-register on this page. No there will be no other form of payment accepted. Completed applications and registration fees must be turned in before or at the set deadline.

  3. Judging will be as follows: Interview (40 pts.), Presentation (N/ A), Formal/Evening (35 pts.), Talent (SO pts.), Question and Answer (35 pts.)

    In the event of tie for the top 5 placements, the highest score received in talent competition will break the tie. There will be (7) judges. Judges score sheets and comments will be available upon request following the pageant.

  4. Talent will be limited to (S) minutes. The use of props for talent is permitted. Any talent presentation is acceptable except those that may impose danger to the audience or any other person(s).

    NOT ACCEPTED are glitter, confetti, powder, fire, paint, water, oil, live animals, or reptiles. These things may not be used in any talent. When singing live, it is the responsibility of the contestant to request sound check arrangements.

    Prop set up is not included in the 5 minutes time allowance. Be aware that talent presentations lasting more than (5) minutes are subject to administrative point deductions. All talent music must be provided in a flash drive. Please ensure that you have 2 copies of your talent music (1 copy for backup).

  5. There will be no special music selection for presentation or evening attire allowed.

  6. Contestants must be prepared to start all categories after the contestant before them has finished. If you are the first contestant, then you must be ready when announced. Any contestant not ready when called will have 30 seconds to hit the stage. After 30 seconds you will have administrative points deducted from your final score for that category. After 1 minute you will be skipped and receive a Zero for that category. We will not return to you.

  7. Contestants will be allowed (1) pass for their dresser. Please make sure that your dresser always has this pass visible.

  8. Professional conduct is required. Unprofessional conduct is subject to interpretation by the members of Black Pride. Any contestant, dresser, contestant's dancer(s), etc. caught in the act of stealing or tampering with other contestants' possessions will be immediately disqualified and removed from the premises. Please advise your support teams of these rules as you will be held responsible for their actions.

  9. Contestants are required to keep dressing area and passages clean and free of props. Discard all unwanted material properly. If you require any guidance or assistance in this matter, please ask. Any charges or damages incurred by the venue due to your negligence will be your responsibility. Please note that that you also risk points deduction for any of these listed.

  10. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Any contestant who causes a disruption, destruction of property backstage, or walks off stage during the crowning ceremony will forfeit any placement and related prize money. That contestant will be banned from competing/attending any Black Pride event in the future. Black Pride reserves the right to seek prosecution were deemed necessary.

  11. Neither Black Pride nor the place of venue can be held responsible for any damages or injury to participating contestants, their assistants, or dancers.

  12. The 1st runner up is eligible to compete the following year with their entry fee waived.

  13. Mr. / Miss Black Pride International reserves the right to make any necessary decisions concerning any matters not covered by these Rules and Regulations.
